Note: all sizes come in plastic bottles for safety during shipping.
Origin: Canada
Production: Maple syrup is a natural sweetener derived from maple trees native to Canada and the Northeastern United States. In late winter and early spring, maple trees are tapped by drilling holes into their trunks and collecting the sap which is then processed by heating to evaporate much of the water and leaving a concentrated syrup.
Qualities: Along with its sweetness, maple syrup is praised for its unique signature taste with caramel and nutty flavor notes. It also contains many minerals and antioxidants and research suggests these may offer health benefits over other sweeteners.
Maple syrup is graded based on its density and translucency. Sucrose is the most prevalent sugar in maple syrup. In Canada, syrups must be made exclusively from maple sap to qualify as maple syrup and must also be at least 66 percent sugar.
Our grade A, dark amber, maple syrup is sweeter than grade B maple syrups and is considered the traditional “pancake maple syrup”
Common Use: Maple syrup is often used as a condiment for pancakes, waffles, French toast, oatmeal, or porridge. It is also used as an ingredient in baking and as a sweetener or flavouring agent.
Storage: Keep refrigerated at all times, even before opening!
