Botanical Name: Cocos nucifera
Country of Origin: Philippines
Production: Coconut oil is extracted from the meat of mature fresh coconuts harvested from the coconut palm. Virgin coconut oil is made from the first pressing of fresh, raw coconuts, without the addition of any chemicals. This pure-white, creamy natural product is neither, bleached, hydrogenated, nor deodorized.
Qualities: Virgin coconut oil is fairly high in saturated fat but is also about half lauric acid, a medium-chain fatty acid believed to raise HDL. Compared to many other types of fats, the fatty acids in coconut oil might be digested more easily and have also been known to kill harmful pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
Common Use: Coconut oil is extremely versatile. As it can be heated to high temperatures it is ideally suited for frying and baking and adds a fine, exotic note to dishes. Coconut oil generally acquires a stronger coconut flavor as it is exposed to more heat, whereas raw, unrefined coconut oil has a very mild flavor and scent. This explains the wide range of applications of raw coconut oil in skin-, hair-, and dental care, making it an excellent skin and hair moisturizer or for “oil pulling”.
Storage: Because of its high saturated fat content, coconut oil is slow to oxidize which renders it resistant to rancidification and can be kept at room temperature. For longterm storage, it can be refrigerated or frozen.

Best Choice

I have been buying coconut oil for quite some time and I love the texture of this product. I use it in my drink every morning, or in food and oil pulling everyday. I have searched for a sourcce that provides a more natural product and I found it. Thank you.

I love it!

I use this oil in my massage therapy practice and for cooking. I also put it in my coffee and when I get a cold sore, I put some coconut oil on it and it is the most effective treatment I have found so far. It doesn’t have an overpowering scent, which I like.
