Put them in everything
My dogs love these as is or reconstituted. I love them in everything!! So healthy and tasty.

I had never used dried mushrooms or had maitake mushrooms before, but this will be a repeat order of these ones. I put a few of them in the crockpot when I make a vegetable broth, then take them out and use in soups, stirfrys etcetera. They add a great texture. I find the maitake add a very tasty flavour to the broth so I also just have the broth with OM's chickpea miso and it's so good!

These are absolutely wonderful. They reconstitute nicely. I have used them in Chili and spaghetti sauce this far. I plan on I ordering more and making a nice cream of mushroom soup with them.

CanadaTasty, nutritious, and comes in interesting shapes
My family enjoys these maitaki mushrooms very much. They take on the flavor of whatever you put them in. They're crunchy and brittle when they arrive in a sealed bag, so we scrunch them into smaller pieces and put them in soup and stews and casseroles. I have also experimented with rehydrating them by soaking them in chicken broth and then cooking them in omelets with savory spices, a substitute for bacon. Ohhh, so good. We love the texture, similar to other mushrooms but with much more interesting shapes! We are resolved to add more varieties of mushrooms due to the nutritional benefits. Maitaki mushrooms are being studied for the way they reportedly help balance blood glucose, boost immune function, treat high cholestrol, reduce blood pressure and improve fertility. They may also have anti-cancer properties. Side note: I recently ordered the 1 lb. bag and opened the box to find the bag wide open at the top, as the ziplock-style seal would not close properly. I have had no such problem with the smaller 1/4 lb. bags. That said, it was a simple matter to switch the contents to another container and toss in a couple of oxygen absorbers to preserve freshness by keeping the mushrooms nice and dry. The product is good quality, and we will definitely order again.
