Botanical Name: Taraxacum officinale
Country of Origin: Albania / China
Production: Dandelion is an edible perennial herb with deeply cut leaves, yellow flowers, and a thick taproot which is dark brown on the outside and white on the inside. It is native to most of Europe, Northern Africa, and Asia, but now has naturalized all over the world alongside roads and in lawns as a common weed. It‰ۡóÁÌ_́ÌÎ_̴Ìös botanical name Taraxacum is derived from the Greek words 'taraxos', meaning disorder, and 'akos', meaning remedy, referring to dandelion's myriad of healing properties.
Qualities: There are medical references as early as the 10th century for the use of Taraxcacum by Arabian physicians as a remedy for liver and kidney complaints and dandelion root is valued for the same reasons to this day. Studies have shown that dandelion stimulates bile flow and has a mild diuretic effect. According to some nutritional analysis, dandelion root contains substantial levels of vitamins A, C, D, B-complex, iron, magnesium, zinc, manganese, choline, calcium, boron, and a high amount of potassium.
Common Use: Roasting the root gives it a coffee-like taste. To make dandelion root coffee, brew one teaspoon of roasted dandelion powder for 15 to 20 minutes and add dairy or dairy alternatives, and sweeteners to your own taste. For dandelion root tea, dissolve one tablespoon of roasted dandelion root, 1/2 a teaspoon of minced, fresh or dried ginger root, and one cardamom seed in two cups of water. Steep the mixture for 5 to 10 minutes, strain, add sweetener to taste, and enjoy! Dandelion root can also be blended into smoothies, mixed with juices, or sprinkled over cereal and oatmeal.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark, dry place in a sealed container.
Safety: We recommend that you consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before using any herbal products, particularly if you are pregnant, nursing, or on any medications.

Did not realize product was not Canadian - stated in description but it was my fault, I missed it. If that is something that is important to you, be aware. Shipping was fast, product packed well etc.
Roasted Organic Dandelion root
I just tried as a coffee replacement, texture and flavour are strong, I recommend use a tsp for a cup of tea, let it for 2 or 3 minutes and enjoy it.
Dandelion Root Good product
I add a cup of hot water to a couple of tsp of dandelion root to make a beverage with a little almond milk. In the late afternoon it is a soothing drink with a flavour I enjoy. I especially like that it feeds my good gut buddies. I love that aspect about this product. It’s so important to keep our gut biomes well nourished so that they serve us well.
