Qualities: One of the most popular and versatile dried fruits, dates are an endless source of nutrients and an excellent sugar alternative. Chewy and sweet, they are packed with fiber (a ½ cup of dates is approximately 22% of daily fiber intake) and potassium, magnesium, and manganese. Traditionally, dates were used to break fasts as they have high carbohydrate and sugar contents, immediately raising blood sugars and providing instantaneous energy.
Common Use: Dates are excellent in both sweet and savory dishes. A nutritious sweetener in smoothies, pie crusts or energy balls, in salad dressings, etc.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in a well sealed container.

Disappointingly dry

My inaugural order with OM, something I was looking forward to and this item in particular was especially disappointing. Over 80% of the dates in the package were dried out, tough and mealy in texture-I could not salvage them for baking or smoothies as they carried a bland flavor, lacking in every way. I also picked up a bag of the organic whole medjool dates and for only .25 more it was a much better experience, those whole dates were plump, juicy and sweet. Not sure if I recieved a poor batch, but this was a poor experience and I would not order this item again.

I will never order dates again

I sent you guys a email that the dates were very dry and disappointing. I threw them in the garbage along with the coconut dates. I never heard back. I will never order them again. Costco dates are much sweeter and moist. 2 lb bag is the same price compared to your 1 lb bag. I would like a credit or a refund.Mike

Excellent organic pitted dates

I am very impressed with the quality of these dates!! I will definitely be ordering again. I like to eat them as is, or with warmed almonds while also using them to make energy balls.
