MINT CAROB CHIPS

Cool peppermint and naturally sweet carob come together in these small button-shaped chips, made with a carob known for its creamy texture and mellow, roasted flavour. A unique processing method keeps the carob smooth and rich rather than chalky or bitter, which is the complaint most people have about carob they tried years ago. Sweetened with coconut sugar and finished with pure peppermint oil, the result is a minty treat that tastes like carob at its most refined rather than a chocolate stand-in.

Worth knowing is the fat that holds each chip together. Instead of plain palm kernel oil, these chips use palm kernel stearin, the firmer, higher-melting fraction separated from the oil by cooling and filtering, with no hydrogenation involved. That is what gives the buttons a clean snap at room temperature and a smooth, quick melt on the tongue, so they hold their shape in cookie dough yet dissolve evenly when you heat them for drizzling. Being chocolate-free, dairy-free, nut-free and naturally caffeine-free, they bring dessert back onto the table for households avoiding cocoa or dairy. Fold them into brownies and muffins, scatter them over granola and yogurt, or toss them with almonds and raisins for a mint-twist trail mix.
