Botanical Name: Salvia officinalis
Origin: Albania / Egypt
Production: Sage is a perennial, evergreen shrub, that is a part of the mint family and is native to the Mediterranean.
Qualities: The leaves and stems of sage have been used for culinary and traditional uses for centuries.
Common Use: The dried sage leaves can be used as a tea by themselves, or blended, and can add flavour to a wide variety of dishes including soups and salads. Sage can also be used to preserve cheese and meat. Due to its astringent properties, it is used cosmetically in hair and scalp tonics and skin toners.
Storage: Store in a cool, dark, dry place in a sealed container.

Another great product from OM. The sage is so fresh, as if was just picked from the garden. If I had a garden I'd be growing it - this is the next best thing.

Sage of Time....
I tried Sage powder for the first time ordered here, and it's tangy in my Mayo recipe, combined with cumin seed powder, Summer Savory, Marjoram, chili powder, Vit. C pdr., Fenuthyme, cracked white pepper, etc. and lemon grass tea used to replace lemon juice.. Flavor is wholesome in Sourdough Spelt Bread recipe with most of above powders plus Italian Seasoning. Will try it next with Caraway Seeds in Bread. I appreciate these products from your store very much! Bravo!
